DC Studios' "Dynamic Duo" Stop-Motion Film Reportedly Sets Release Window; Action Scenes Compared to "The Bourne Ultimatum"

In addition to the upcoming DCU animated series "Creature Commandos" and the "Superman" film hitting theaters in 2025, DC Studios, led by James Gunn, recently announced a new stop-motion animated film developed for the first and second Robins, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. That project, "Dynamic Duo", now reportedly has a projected release window.

Sources indicate that Warner Bros. Animation revealed during a recent discussion that the stop-motion film, focusing on the "Bat-Family," is slated for a Spring 2028 release. If true, fans will have to wait a while to see the film, which is being produced by Swaybox Studios.

The DC stop-motion animated film "Dynamic Duo" will tell the origin stories of the "first" Robin, Dick Grayson, and the "second" Robin, Jason Todd.

Reports suggest the film's action sequences will rival the scale of "The Bourne Ultimatum." While it is a stop-motion animated feature, Swaybox Studios utilizes "Momo animation," a technique that combines CGI to make characters more vivid and human-like. This innovative approach could lead to a highly anticipated cinematic experience.

Matthew Aldrich, a co-writer on "Lightyear" and "Coco," is penning the script. DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are also attached as producers.
