After its critically acclaimed first season wrapped up last March, *Frieren: Beyond Journey's End* has captivated audiences not just in Japan but globally. Its massive popularity has led to fervent discussions, skyrocketing character appeal, and a flood of merchandise and events.
But get this: veteran Japanese comedy manga artist Kazutoshi Soyama recently dropped a post on X, confessing he asked the "extremely stupid question": "Who's the protagonist of Frieren...?" The internet immediately blew up, and even the official *Frieren* X account chimed in, turning it into a hilarious viral moment.
Soyama, known for his comedic takes on everyday life through manga, posted yesterday (Jan 6) about his "dumbest comment of the day." He admitted to asking, "Who's the protagonist of *Frieren: Beyond Journey's End*...?", only to be met with a bewildered, "Are you serious...?". He then lamented how incredibly foolish he felt.
While it's true that a series title doesn't always match its protagonist's name, this particular query still had netizens roasting him. Let's just say it was a *bit* too obvious for most!

Then today (Jan 7), the official *Frieren* X account jumped into the fray, quote-retweeting Soyama with a hilarious jab! They used a panel from the manga featuring the iconic exchange: "It's Frieren." "Oh, I see..." "Are you still playing dumb?" This epic social media interaction had fans absolutely cracking up, praising the official account for picking *just* the right image!
Naturally, Kazutoshi Soyama immediately responded, offering a sheepish apology! (Fun fact: Soyama actually serialized *Dangerous Jii-san* in Shogakukan, making him, in a way, Frieren's senior... right?!)

While it was all in good fun, this back-and-forth between the two accounts definitely had netizens roaring with laughter. It just goes to show how active and witty the official *Frieren* X account is – their social media manager clearly knows their stuff, even playfully roasting a veteran!
