Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has increasingly moved behind the camera in recent years, executive producing HBO series she also starred in, such as "Mare of Easttown" and "The Regime." She also produced the biopic "Lee" and wrote, produced, and starred in the "I Am Ruth" episode of the "I Am..." anthology series. Now, Winslet is set to take on her first feature-length directorial project.
Much like her daughter Mia Threapleton appeared alongside her in "I Am Ruth," Winslet's directorial debut will also feature her child's involvement in the production.

Titled "Goodbye June," Winslet's inaugural feature film is slated for a Netflix release and is expected to begin filming this year. Winslet will serve as both director and producer, while also co-starring with a formidable ensemble cast including Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren.
The screenplay for "Goodbye June" was penned by Winslet's son, Joe Anders. Set in contemporary Britain, the film's plot centers on a group of estranged siblings who are forced to reunite and confront unexpected challenges. Further specific details about the story have not yet been released.
