Marvel's "Blade" reboot, a project that has cycled through numerous script rewrites and at least six different writers, is once again searching for a director after two have already departed. Now, it seems Marvel Studios may have found its third-time-the-charm candidate. According to a report from industry outlet World of Reel, "John Wick" franchise director Chad Stahelski has been hired to helm the troubled film.

Stahelski, who has an extensive background in stunt work and action choreography, is widely seen as a perfect fit to bring the Daywalker's signature martial arts and weapon-based combat to the screen. The director himself has previously expressed a strong desire to direct a "Blade" film.
However, Stahelski's schedule is already packed with high-profile projects. His upcoming directorial slate includes the live-action adaptation of "Ghost of Tsushima," a reboot of "Highlander," and a film based on the "Rainbow Six" novel, raising questions about his availability for "Blade."

In a related development, well-known industry scooper Daniel Richtman reported today that "Blade" has now been classified as a project set to take place after the sixth "Avengers" film, "Secret Wars." This timeline shift suggests the vampire hunter's solo movie likely won't hit theaters until after the "Secret Wars" release (currently slated for May 7, 2027), with its plot unfolding in the aftermath of the massive crossover event.
