In addition to unveiling its new IP, "Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet," at The Game Awards in late 2024, and with "The Last of Us Part 3" seemingly beginning its casting process, Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a secret, unannounced game that has been in development for over three years. While the studio has yet to officially comment on the rumors, the news has quickly captured the attention of players and the industry alike.
According to a recent report from well-known gaming insider DanielRPK, Naughty Dog is currently juggling multiple development projects. Among them is a new, undisclosed title, said to be helmed by Shaun Escayg, who previously directed "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy."

This raises the question: could this unannounced secret project be the next installment in the "Uncharted" series? The franchise hasn't seen a new mainline entry since "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," with only the standalone expansion "The Lost Legacy" released in 2017.
While there are currently no definitive indications linking the new project to "Uncharted," recent whispers suggest Naughty Dog might be developing a game centered on Nathan Drake's daughter, Cassie Drake.

Notably, Kaitlyn Dever, who voiced Cassie Drake in "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," has also been cast as Abby in the upcoming second season of HBO's "The Last of Us" live-action series. This coincidence has led some fans to speculate whether Dever might reprise her role in a potential return to the "Uncharted" franchise.
