Japanese Fan Builds Incredible Custom Shiiko Sugai Pilot Suit Gunpla from "Gundam GQuuuuuuX" – Way Ahead of the Official Release!

The latest installment in the Gundam anime saga, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," premiered this season to significant buzz. Its fresh new premise, coupled with a powerhouse collaboration between Studio Khara (of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" fame) and Sunrise (the legendary studio behind "Mobile Suit Gundam"), has certainly captured a lot of attention.

Making her debut in the anime's fourth episode, the new Federation Forces character, Shiiko Sugai (シイコ・スガイ), quickly became a fan favorite. Her adorable looks combined with her "wife" persona have sparked a massive wave of fan art and garnered immense popularity. Now, a Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user has taken things a step further, crafting their own custom Shiiko Sugai pilot suit Gunpla model, which has been met with widespread acclaim for its charming rendition.

In "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," Shiiko Sugai (シイコ・スガイ) is a Federation Forces ace pilot from the One Year War, famously known as "The Witch" after her partner was shot down by Char's red Gundam. By U.C. 0085, she's retired and a mother to one child. However, upon discovering the long-lost red Gundam has reappeared, she bravely pilots a Gelgoog to rejoin the fray and confront it.

X user Re:JIN ( @re_ji_n ) masterfully transformed a Figure-rise Standard "Diver Fumina" model kit from "Gundam Build Metaverse". Through a combination of meticulous painting and custom assembly, they brought this incredible Shiiko Sugai pilot suit Gunpla to life. What makes it even more impressive is that there's no official Figure-rise Standard model for Shiiko Sugai yet, making this a truly pioneering build!

Of course, one of Shiiko Sugai's most distinctive traits is her adorable face that completely belies her status as both a wife and a Federation ace pilot. Re:JIN perfectly captured that captivating, yet innocent expression through their painting. The pilot suit also faithfully recreates the official design, right down to the necktie detail.

And check out that interchangeable smiling face part!

Naturally, you'll want to pair her with the "HG 1/144 Gelgoog (Sugai Custom/GQ Ver.)" for some epic poses. We're sure fans who watched the fourth episode felt all the feels – it was quite the emotional ride!

For all you Gunpla and 30MS pros out there, we bet you've got the skills to whip up your own version of this unreleased Bandai design! If you're feeling inspired, definitely check out the original post from the creator to see more of their awesome work.
