Last October saw the launch of the first Pokémon card mobile game, "Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket," which quickly became a global daily obsession. And let's not forget the physical "Pokémon Trading Card Game"—it's still a titan in the card game world.
Recently, Japanese YouTuber "Pokemonia" dropped an unboxing video featuring a Pokémon Card Lucky Bag (known as "oripa") that cost a hefty 48,500 JPY. The video absolutely blew up, sparking massive online buzz and racking up over 9 million views!

These "Pokémon Card Lucky Bags" are special bundles where stores randomly pack multiple cards together. Many card shops offer similar deals. While it's tough to know if the contents truly match the price tag, who can resist a little gamble to test their luck?

The initial pulls in the video weren't terrible, but they weren't exactly thrilling either. Mostly common cards, with even a few international versions mixed in.

One of the higher rarity cards was an Irida SAR (Special Art Rare), valued at around 2,780 JPY. But even with that, the total value of the bag so far barely scraped past 10,000 JPY, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.

Next up were a few more cards worth only a few hundred JPY each. Just when it looked like the luck was running out, BAM! Two Salamence SAR cards appeared back-to-back, each valued at approximately 4,980 JPY, instantly boosting the total to 24,240 JPY.

Then, a few more smaller cards, each worth over a thousand JPY, popped up. Just as Pokemonia anxiously exclaimed, "I really want another big hit!", the real jackpot arrived—two Charizard ex SAR cards, back-to-back! Each card boasts a market price of 24,800 JPY, meaning these two alone covered the initial cost and then some, sending him into pure joy!

The video wrapped up with an astonished "Ehh, too big!" The estimated total market value of the entire pack hit a whopping 84,500 JPY—a massive profit! The comment section absolutely exploded:
"That final reveal was insane!", "I thought he was doomed, but then it flipped and doubled—LOL!", "Those last two Charizards alone made it a god-tier pack, no doubt!", "It started off looking like a bust, but ended with a legendary comeback. So much profit!" Other netizens also pointed out: "Actually, a lot of the cards inside are pretty useful for deck building," and "It's expensive, but not pure gambling; the practical use adds value."
