Still going strong 30 years after its TV anime debut, "Neon Genesis Evangelion" continues to drop a steady stream of collaborations, a testament to its enduring appeal over three decades.
Recently, Japanese watch brand KENTEX announced a partnership with its "MOTO-R" racing watch series to launch a limited edition watch themed around Khara's official racing team, "EVA-racing." This timepiece perfectly blends eye-catching sports aesthetics with the iconic world of "Evangelion." Priced at 88,000 JPY and limited to just 99 pieces globally, it's currently available for pre-order on their official website.
"Neon Genesis Evangelion" actually has deep roots in motorsports. Khara established its own professional racing team, "EVA-racing," in 2010. With numerous drivers competing in international events, the team remains highly active and is now celebrating its 15th anniversary.
To commemorate "EVA-racing's" 15th anniversary, KENTEX is rolling out this special MOTO-R collaboration model.
The design prioritizes practicality, with all buttons conveniently located on the left side of the dial at the 9 o'clock position for effortless daily operation. Inside, a newly developed chronograph movement not only offers precise timekeeping but also features automatic vibration correction technology.
The dial sports the classic purple and green hues of Unit-01, enhanced by a "radial brushed finish" that shifts with the light, giving it a truly premium feel. Both the hour and minute hands, along with the dial numbers, feature a luminous design, ensuring readability even in the dark.
What's more, at the 9 o'clock position, you'll find a brand-new "EVA-racing" team logo, specially drawn by "Neon Genesis Evangelion" mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita – talk about pure collab vibes!
But the coolest detail? The chronograph's second hand is shaped like the "Lance of Cassius" from the new "Evangelion" movies! Its proportions and design were meticulously fine-tuned during development, striking a perfect balance between stunning aesthetics and practical functionality. That vibrant red makes it both cool and incredibly eye-catching.
The case back is engraved with the exclusive "EVA-racing" logo, and each watch comes with a unique serial number (from 01/99 to 99/99), making every single piece one-of-a-kind!
This watch also includes a "military-grade ballistic nylon strap" that can be directly attached to racing suits or motorcycle gear. It's not only durable and incredibly soft but also features the "EVA-racing" exclusive logo printed right on it!
