BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has officially announced today the detailed information for the latest product from the official side story game "Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt," the "HG 1/144 Gundam Zagan," from the Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, which boasts the most comprehensive lineup of mobile suits faithfully recreating their anime appearances. It is scheduled for release in December 2025.
The ASW-G-61 Gundam Zagan was a Gundam Frame mobile suit utilized by Arzorna Isshu, the head of the Isshu family, one of the original "Seven Stars" during the "Calamity War" over three centuries ago. After the war, it was kept under strict management by the Isshu family and rarely appeared in public. It wasn't until the current family head, Kelda, was killed in battle that Rond Bronn, a member of her personal guard who inherited her will, revealed the Gundam Zagan's hiding place during his search for a successor to the family head.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Zagan" thoroughly recreates its distinctive head antenna, the frame completely enveloped by heavy armor made of rare metal, using newly sculpted parts. The main body inherits the characteristics of Gundam Frame mobile suits, featuring flexible articulation. The front shoulder armor has an independent movable design to ensure a wide range of motion for the arms, and both the shoulder and wrist areas utilize ball joint designs in two places to enhance articulation.
The Gundam Zagan's most distinctive armament is the "Shield Claw Unit" suspended on both sides of the mobile suit. The hanger connected to the rear of the waist can rotate in multiple directions. When stored, the unit functions as a sturdy shield, and it also features a transformation mechanism to recreate the shield's deployed form, allowing for dynamic poses such as attacking with its golden rare metal blades or gripping enemy mobile suits with its extended claws.
