After months of rumors, the new "Star Wars" spinoff film, reportedly titled "Star Wars: Starfighter," was officially confirmed at Star Wars Celebration two months ago. The project, helmed by "Deadpool & Wolverine" director Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, has left fans wondering who else will join the cast.
Veteran entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider revealed on his blog, The InSneider, that Mia Goth (pictured above, left), known for her roles in the "X" horror trilogy and other thrillers, has officially signed on. While Sneider didn't specify her role, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has indicated that Goth will be playing a villain.

THR also reported that the role Goth has secured was originally intended for actress Mikey Madison, who had been previously rumored for the part. However, Madison ultimately exited the project over a salary dispute. Sneider corroborated this in his report, stating that negotiations broke down after Madison requested higher pay.
"Starfighter" will reportedly follow a Jedi Knight, played by Gosling, who takes his 15-year-old nephew as an apprentice. During a mission, they find themselves pursued by a male and female villain, with Goth's character being one of the pursuers.
The screenplay is penned by Jonathan Tropper, who previously collaborated with Levy on "This Is Where I Leave You" and "The Adam Project." The story is set several years after the events of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" and is expected to begin filming this fall. Previous rumors have also suggested that this will be a smaller-scale project with a significantly lower budget than a typical "Star Wars" film.
