Kotobukiya, the Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its popular "Frame Arms Girl" plastic model series' large-scale branch, "GRANDE SCALE," with the release of "Magatsuki" scheduled for November 2025.
The original design for the Frame Arms Girl Magatsuki comes from the "NSG-Z0 Magatsuki," a base defense Frame Arms used by the Lunar Faction in the "Frame Arms" series. Designed by illustrator ToMo, its distinctive feature is its additional armor, resembling an armored samurai, equipped with the great katana "TENKAI" and the wakizashi "SATUGA." After being transformed into a beautiful girl by illustrator Eiji Komatsu, she inherits this additional armor, great katana, and wakizashi armaments. The body itself is designed as a Japanese-style beautiful girl with long, straight black hair, incorporating elements of Japanese Shinto (mythology) into her attire.
"GRANDE SCALE Magatsuki" features redesigned part sizes based on the CAD data of the standard version, increasing its overall height from the original 15 cm to 25 cm. Compared to the standard size, it is not only easier to assemble and paint but also features increased part and color separation for some components. This larger size allows for a more prominent display of Magatsuki's characteristic abdominal curve, wide pelvis, and voluptuous hips. The various clear armor parts are reproduced using transparent components, with internal structures featuring engraved mechanical details.
Thanks to the common standard 5mm joint points on various parts, the body can be equipped with a wealth of armor parts to recreate the "Armed Mode," resembling an armored samurai, or the lightly armored "Kunoichi Mode." The helmet includes two styles: the large horn from the original design and a small horn suitable for light armor. Accessories include two sets each of the dedicated weapons, the great katana "TENKAI" and the wakizashi "SATUGA," allowing for both sheathed and drawn states without part replacement.
The articulation system also features pull-out designs for the chest and shoulder joints, while the hip incorporates sliding articulation used in conjunction with pull-out joints within the thighs. The hands are connected via ball joints. These features, combined with three pre-painted face parts ("normal face," "injured face," "worried face") and five pairs of PVC molded hands, allow for posing Magatsuki in various cute and cool stances.
