Japanese model maker DIG has announced the PriPla “Maneki-Neko: Fukunosuke Goes Ceramic (Fukunosuke Ver. 2)” plastic model kit, which shrinks the classic Japanese lucky cat down to a palm-sized collectible. This updated version features revised sculpting and surface details designed to give the plastic model the look of a traditional ceramic maneki-neko. Priced at 990 yen including tax, the kit is scheduled for release in March 2027.

Fukunosuke Ver. 2 is the first release in PriPla’s new “Fukunosuke as a ○○” maneki-neko collection. Compared to the original Fukunosuke released in 2025, this version updates the cat’s body details and adorable expression while drawing more heavily on the appearance of traditional ceramic lucky cats. Along with Fukunosuke himself, the kit includes a koban coin symbolizing wealth and prosperity. Whether displayed on a desk, inside a display case, or alongside other models, this tiny cat should bring a little extra good fortune to any collection.

The PriPla line uses digital full-color printing, so every part comes predecorated straight from the factory. No painting or glue is required—simply remove the parts from the runner with a pair of nippers and snap everything together. Fukunosuke continues that beginner-friendly approach, with all parts contained on a runner measuring approximately 8.4 × 8.4 centimeters. It is an easy way for model kit fans to add a cheerful lucky cat to their desk without spending hours painting.
