The 'HG (High Grade)' series, the most diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla line from the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the 'HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ [Final Battle Image Color]', slated for release in August 2025. This product will be exclusively sold on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
Piloted by Shin Asuka, the ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Archangel after the previous great war, then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. In addition to adopting a cutting-edge all-around cockpit and replacing the joint armor material, the power system has also been significantly upgraded. The substantial increase in energy also resulted in the VPS armor's color becoming deeper.
The 'HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ [Final Battle Image Color]' is based on a recolored version of the previously released standard edition. It recreates the appearance of the Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ unleashing dozens of 'clones' for a coordinated attack during the final battle sequence at the end of the film. The molding colors of the entire body parts have been significantly adjusted to depict the joints glowing red when the clones are deployed. Additionally, new color-correcting stickers and the 'Prototype 35-Type Modified Railgun' are included.
Other specifications are essentially the same as the standard edition, featuring a refined, cool design and excellent articulation. The shoulder, torso, and hip joints all boast flexible movement. Coupled with armaments such as the beam rifle, shield, beam boomerangs, 'Arondight' Beam Sword, and High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, as well as luxurious effect parts like the palm cannon, beam shield, and Wings of Light, you can recreate the cool battle poses from the series.
