While the search for the seventh James Bond actor continues, the hunt for the next 007 director is also underway. Renowned entertainment journalist Matt Belloni recently revealed on his Puck News website the current contenders vying to direct the next Bond installment. The list includes Edgar Wright, director of "Baby Driver"; Denis Villeneuve, known for the "Dune" series; Paul King, who helmed "Wonka"; Edward Berger, director of "Conclave"; and Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan's brother and producer of "Westworld."

According to Belloni's report, Berger has already pitched his vision to Amazon MGM Studios, while Villeneuve is preparing his own proposal, though his busy schedule makes his availability uncertain. Additionally, another outlet, World of Reel, reported that Steve McQueen, director of "12 Years a Slave," who was previously rumored to be interested in the Bond franchise, remains highly enthusiastic and is still pursuing the directing opportunity. Alfonso Cuarón, who was also widely rumored to be in the running, has reportedly withdrawn and is no longer on the candidate list.
