The screenplay was penned by Will Tracy, known for his work on "The Menu." The cast also includes Alicia Silverstone, Jesse Plemons, and stand-up comedian Stavros Halkias. Jang Joon-hwan, the director of the original film, was initially attached to direct the English-language version four years ago but ultimately departed the project.

The official synopsis for the American remake reads: "Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the powerful CEO of a major corporation, convinced that she is an alien bent on destroying the Earth."
