Trachtenberg co-wrote the screenplay for "Badlands" with Patrick Aison, his collaborator on "Prey." Set in the near future, the film stars Elle Fanning as a new android character from the "Alien" franchise, a model produced by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. This marks a long-awaited crossover between the two iconic alien monster IPs since the "Alien vs. Predator" series.
The film's protagonist Predator, "Dirk," is played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. While Fanning is a key protagonist, the film will reportedly break new ground by telling the story primarily from Dirk's perspective.
