When you talk about the vast universe of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" often gets playfully dubbed the "pretty boy group" by fans, and for good reason! It's hard to forget the series that captivated audiences not just with its帅气 characters, but also with its voice actors, making it one of the rare Gundam titles to win over female viewers. This year, the iconic series celebrates its 30th anniversary!
To mark this huge milestone, the official team just dropped a brand-new commemorative video, "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing -Operation 30th-." This epic video blends classic TV anime footage with newly animated scenes, and what's really blowing fans away is the appearance of mobile suits and characters from the novel "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop" that never made it into the anime before. Talk about a jaw-dropping surprise!
The video was directed by Toru Iwasawa, who has a long history in the industry, having worked as an action director and animation supervisor on numerous projects. For this special anniversary, he drew inspiration from the classic "eyecatch" transition screens used in the original TV anime to bridge segments, creating a truly nostalgic yet fresh experience!
Beyond scenes based on the TV series and movie, the video astonishingly features the cloaked "Wing Gundam Snow White Prelude" from the "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop" novel! Plus, it introduces key characters who never appeared in the main anime, like "Aidin Lowe," the adoptive father who taught Heero how to survive, and "Meilan," Chang Wufei's wife, along with their respective mobile suits. For many Gundam Wing fans, seeing these beloved characters and mobile suits finally animated is an incredibly moving moment.

After seeing these mobile suits and characters, we bet everyone's hoping the official team will consider animating the "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Glory of the Losers" manga and the "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop" novel. Maybe, just maybe, this video gives us a little more hope for that dream to come true!
