This weekend, at the annual pop culture extravaganza San Diego Comic-Con, "Prey" director Dan Trachtenberg was on hand to promote the latest installment in the franchise, "Predator: Badlands." Beyond discussing the sequel, Trachtenberg also unveiled a new surprise at the end of the animated film "Predator: Killer of Killers," which premiered last month on Disney+.
The surprise came today as "Killer of Killers" received a sudden update, adding several seconds of new footage to its post-credits scene. This new sequence reveals that the protagonists from the first two "Predator" films — Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover — were, much like "Prey" star Amber Midthunder, abducted by the Predators and frozen on their home planet.

Trachtenberg further disclosed that he has already discussed potential future returns for Schwarzenegger's character. "I recently had a quick, simple breakfast with Arnold — and I was super conscious of what I ordered," Trachtenberg recounted. "We talked about a lot of things we could do together. He was very gracious in agreeing to this cameo. And now we can continue to plan some stories that might be suitable for him later on."
At Comic-Con, Trachtenberg also explained his decision to make the Predator the first-person perspective, empathetic protagonist in "Badlands." He stated, "I realized something that has never happened before: the Predators have never won, yet they are supposed to be the galaxy's most formidable hunters. Our goal is to explore an emotional journey and see if we can find a way for the audience to empathize with the Predator."
