"The Social Network," the biographical film officially announced for a sequel last month, has today revealed two potential new cast members. Deadline reports that Jeremy Allen White, who rose to prominence starring in "The Bear," and Mikey Madison, who just won an Oscar for "Anora" this year, are both being eyed for lead roles. While formal offers haven't been extended, Aaron Sorkin, who penned the first film and is set to direct the sequel, is reportedly very keen on them.

Regarding the original cast, Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake have not yet confirmed their return, and there's no word on their involvement.

Deadline previously reported last month that "The Social Network Part II" isn't a traditional sequel but rather a narrative focusing on events post-first film, delving into Facebook's internal operations and its global impact. Sorkin, who has been intermittently developing the sequel, previously stated that the Capitol Hill riot four years ago provided significant inspiration, as he believes Facebook played a crucial role in inciting public unrest.

In its latest report, Deadline added that the sequel will center on the experiences behind journalist Jeff Horwitz's "The Facebook Files" series for The Wall Street Journal in 2021. Sorkin reportedly envisions White playing Horwitz and Madison portraying the whistleblower who tipped him off.
