Fans may recall that the "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" series announced a spin-off film years ago, set to star Hailee Steinfeld's "Spider-Gwen." While that project has yet to materialize, another is now in development, focusing on "Spider-Punk," who made his debut in the sequel, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures Animation is actively developing a solo film for Spider-Punk. Daniel Kaluuya, the acclaimed actor from "Black Panther" and "Nope," who voiced the character in "Across the Spider-Verse," is confirmed to return. Not only will Kaluuya reprise his voice role, but he will also serve as a co-writer on the project.
Before his solo spin-off, Spider-Punk is slated to appear in the third film, "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," which is currently scheduled for release on June 25, 2027.
