The American version of the beloved comedy series "The Office," which has amassed a large and loyal fanbase over the years, is finally set to launch its dedicated spin-off, "The Paper," this year. Tonight, the official trailer and first promotional poster (pictured below) were released.
"The Paper" is set in the same universe as the US version of "The Office" but will not feature any returning main characters. Instead, it serves as a soft reboot, introducing a new cast to tell a similar story. The new series shifts its focus to a historic Midwestern newspaper. The same documentary crew that once filmed the daily lives at the Dunder Mifflin paper company in "The Office" discovers this newspaper's determination to revitalize its operations and decides to make them their new subject.

Other cast members feature Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore as managing editor Esmeralda Grand, Tracy Letts, and Chelsea Frei. Oscar Núñez, who played the accountant Oscar Martinez in "The Office," will also reprise his role. The series is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform Peacock on September 4.
