The "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" manga and anime have amassed a massive global fanbase since their debut, with creator Hirohiko Araki's masterful artwork and character designs consistently earning fan adoration.
Over on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan, a hilarious topic recently blew up. Artist "Genmai" (@hakumai_0807) posted after reading "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" for the first time, exclaiming, "JoJo diedddddddddddddddd!" This instantly ignited a massive online discussion, becoming a classic case of a spoiler that isn't really a spoiler.

See, "JoJo" isn't just one character in the series; it's the nickname for protagonists across generations. So, for a first-time reader, it's totally understandable why they wouldn't grasp that there are, well, a lot of characters called JoJo in this series....

The replies under the post were pure gold, with users speculating wildly. "Which JoJo are we talking about?!" some asked. "Aren't there like, five or six JoJos?" Others joked, "More than one JoJo has died in this series, and some even came back!" Someone even started a betting pool on which JoJo's demise had shocked the artist so much, LOL.

Many veteran fans playfully chimed in, saying things like, "In 'JoJo,' a protagonist dying is pretty much a Tuesday," and "It's actually rarer for a JoJo *not* to have explicitly died."
Given the manga's plot structure, where each part features a different protagonist, the phrase "JoJo died" is both true and incredibly vague. It gives absolutely no clue about which part of the story it refers to, leading many to dub it the "safest spoiler ever." This kind of confusion is something only a "JoJo virgin" would experience.

Artist Genmai later clarified that their post came after finishing "JoJo" Part 1, describing it as "fighting from start to finish" and the "final boss being tougher than a cockroach." They added that they plan to continue with the later parts.

They also revealed their only prior impression of the series was "Jotaro and someone who looks like a chocolate swirl bread." Turns out, the "chocolate swirl bread" person was none other than Vanilla Ice from Part 3... and they even drew their impression of him! It's hilariously off-base, LOL. At least they remembered his Stand ability, "Cream," and kept the heart motif and long hair features from his outfit (?).

For someone who's never seen "JoJo," it's genuinely hard to imagine just how many "JoJos" there are in the series, so it's no wonder this post blew up on X in Japan.
