Capcom's highly anticipated new title, "Monster Hunter Wilds," made a massive splash on Steam on its launch day, and players have been diving in since its late February release. Beyond the monster hunting, a huge part of the fun for many has been the character creator, letting them craft everything from real-life personalities to beloved anime characters.
Recently, Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user ute (@ut_6_24) blew up the internet by using "Monster Hunter Wilds"' character editor to perfectly recreate "Final Fantasy XIII"'s iconic protagonist, "Lightning"! Fans are absolutely gushing, praising the incredible accuracy of the outfit.

Lightning, one of "Final Fantasy XIII"'s main characters, is known for her formidable abilities, strong sense of responsibility, and a tendency to be a bit stubborn and self-reliant. Her striking looks, blending mature charm with a fierce aura, coupled with her undeniably cool in-game actions, have made her one of the series' most popular characters. She even became the face of Louis Vuitton's Series 4 campaign in 2016!

As a female player herself, ute put serious effort into both the character's face and the "layered armor" combinations. The first thing that hits you is the jaw-dropping accuracy of the clothing and gear: the top, mini-skirt, inner wear, the cape draped at the waist, the fanny pack, and the long boots – every detail screams the original character. And yes, all these pieces are obtainable in the game!
Ute noted that the only slight compromise was the hairdo. Lightning's signature look features long bangs covering her left eye and a hint of pink in her hair color. Since "Monster Hunter Wilds" didn't have an exact match, ute opted for a "side ponytail" as a close-enough alternative.

It's clear that tons of players are getting super creative with "Monster Hunter Wilds"' character creator, finding new ways to express themselves. Looks like this game is becoming just as much about character customization as it is about hunting, huh?
