First Grader's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" Art Gets Turned Into a Custom Yu-Gi-Oh! Playmat, Netizens Call Her Art "Soulful"!

The late manga artist Kazuki Takahashi's iconic series, Yu-Gi-Oh!, celebrates its 25th anime anniversary this year. It remains an absolute titan in the card game world, with duelists worldwide still flocking to the game, not just in Asia.

Over on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan, one user took his first-grade daughter's monster card illustrations and turned them into real-life merch. The result? A totally unique and awesome "card playmat" that's now gone viral online, with netizens showering praise on his creativity and his daughter's "soulful" artist style.

The dad, X user Ushitake (@ushitake_tcg), is a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan. His daughter often watches him play, sometimes grabbing his cards to draw her own versions. Last year, she even drew a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon," and its charming, childlike style earned her plenty of online compliments.

Almost a year later, Ushitake took his daughter's monster illustrations and designed them into a custom playmat. The mat features classic Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters like Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, and Dark Magician Girl, all rendered in her unique, adorable childlike style. It's unexpectedly cute and heartwarming, making everyone who sees it exclaim, "That's amazing!"

According to Ushitake, his daughter picked out the monsters she wanted to draw from his deck and then drew each one individually. He then photographed each illustration, compiled them into images, and used a custom merchandise service to create this one-of-a-kind playmat.

Once this unique playmat was revealed, it immediately sparked a huge discussion. Many commented, "This is amazing, the soulful drawing style makes you smile!" "So jealous!" "It has all the charm and no flaws, a masterpiece!" and "It feels like dueling with your daughter!" Other netizens were incredibly impressed by the child's artistic skill, saying, "The dynamism of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is fantastic!"

Despite all the praise, Ushitake jokingly added that he wouldn't want his daughter to see "Maxx "C"," because he definitely doesn't want her drawing cockroaches, lol.

This kind of father-daughter bond is truly enviable. However, some netizens joked that this is basically a ploy to make everyone want to have a daughter, while also cautioning that not every daughter will enjoy playing cards with their dad like this, lol.
