The Jujutsu Kaisen manga officially wrapped up its six-and-a-half-year run last September. While the manga might be over, fans still got the "Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" compilation movie this year, which is also set to hit theaters in Taiwan this September.
But hold up, the long-awaited third season of the anime, "Culling Game Arc Part 1," finally got its official premiere date announcement tonight (August 31st): January 2026! And that's not all – a special theatrical release, "Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Special Edit + Culling Game," is slated to hit cinemas early on November 7, 2025.
It's been a minute since Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 wrapped up in December 2023, and while the "Culling Game Arc" was confirmed for production back then, getting fresh news after over a year and a half is definitely hype for fans.
The real kicker? The official announcement included that special "Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Special Edit + Culling Game" movie. This pre-release film isn't just a theatrical debut for the "Shibuya Incident" highlights; it's also dropping the first two episodes of Season 3 ahead of time, with a global rollout planned!
Alongside these bombshells, the official "Culling Game Arc Part 1" promotional video also dropped. It kicks off with Yuji Itadori sitting on steps, murmuring, "I can't be with everyone anymore," perfectly capturing his despair and struggle post-Shibuya Incident.
Then, Special Grade Sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu makes his appearance, setting the stage for the long-awaited showdown between Jujutsu Kaisen's main protagonist, Yuji, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0's lead, Yuta. The trailer also teases glimpses of Megumi Fushiguro, Choso, Maki Zenin, and Yuki Tsukumo, all gearing up for the new chapter.
