The first spin-off series in the "Alien" franchise, "Alien: Earth," helmed by "Legion" showrunner Noah Hawley, recently premiered on Hulu and Disney+, garnering widespread critical acclaim. Now, even Sigourney Weaver, who famously played Ripley in the original four "Alien" films, is closely following the series and has also offered her praise.

Weaver, who recently visited the Toronto Film Festival to promote her new film ">"Dust Bunny," was asked about her impressions of "Alien: Earth" during an interview. Weaver responded, "I appreciate that the show isn't centered around the Alien itself, but rather explores what kind of world we'll be living in a hundred years from now. I think it's much grander in scope than the 'Alien' films, and it's very captivating. It's more about our world, what it will go through, what will become crucial, and the role greed plays in it. It subverts some of the themes of the 'Alien' series, and I think the cast and their performances are excellent. Honestly, I can't believe it's a television series."

Weaver also mentioned that she hasn't fully caught up with the entire series yet and is a bit behind on the plot, but she "absolutely loves" the episodes she has seen so far.
