Filming for the next "Spider-Man" installment, which some fans have linked to the "Brand New Day" comic arc, recently commenced. Tom Holland was spotted on set wearing a newly designed Spider-Man suit, offering the first public glimpse of the hero's updated look. Many fans quickly observed that the new costume's design appeared to incorporate distinct features from the versions worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, a detail Holland has now confirmed.

In a recent interview with Complex Pop Culture, Holland stated, "I'm really happy that people noticed the homage to Tobey and Andrew's suits. I think a big part of the third movie was an homage to them... I really like the idea that he wants to emulate these two older brothers, he respects them, and he noticed the small details on their suits, and he thought those details were really cool." Holland admitted that the previous film's reunion of the three Spider-Men indeed fostered a sense of admiration in the MCU's Peter Parker for his two predecessors, and this new suit is his way of honoring them.
