The highly anticipated sequel to "The Social Network," officially announced for production this past June, has finally unveiled its full title: "The Social Reckoning." The film is slated for an October 9, 2026 release. Previously rumored cast additions, including Golden Globe winner Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison, are now confirmed to star. As speculated, Jesse Eisenberg will not reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg, with Emmy winner Jeremy Strong taking over the iconic part.

"The Social Reckoning" will center on journalist Jeff Horwitz's experience writing "The Facebook Files" series for The Wall Street Journal in 2021. White is set to portray Horwitz, while Madison will play data engineer Frances Haugen, who served as his whistleblower. Comedian Bill Burr also joins the cast in a role reportedly created specifically for the film.

Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay for the original film, returns to pen the script and produce "The Social Reckoning." However, original director David Fincher will not be back; Sorkin himself will pull double duty, also directing the sequel.
