SEIKO Teams Up with Osamu Tezuka's "Jungle Emperor" for Limited Edition 60th Anniversary Watch!

SEIKO, the renowned Japanese watchmaker, has a history of successful collaborations with various ACG (Anime, Comics, Games) IPs, consistently delighting fans.

Recently, the official announcement dropped: to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Osamu Tezuka's classic anime, "Jungle Emperor," Tezuka Productions has officially supervised a special "Jungle Emperor Anime 60th Anniversary Watch." This limited-edition timepiece is priced at 65,780 JPY and is now available for pre-order on the PREMICO official website.

"Jungle Emperor" (ジャングル大帝), originally a manga created by Osamu Tezuka from 1950 to 1954, has been adapted into anime four times: in 1966, 1989, 1997, and 2009. The 1966 adaptation holds a significant place in history as Japan's very first color television anime series.

The watch design features a three-eye chronograph layout with a silvery-white dial that subtly reveals jungle plant silhouettes under light. At the 6 o'clock position, you'll find the adorable protagonist, young Leo, while his protective father, Panja, is depicted at 12 o'clock.

The sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock recreate the iconic scene of flamingos soaring through the sky from the anime's opening. Plus, the hands and numerals feature a luminous coating, ensuring readability even in the dark.

This timepiece is a global limited edition of 1,965 units, a nod to the anime's original broadcast year of 1965. Each watch will have its unique serial number engraved on the case back.

It comes with a special display box, adorned with the "Jungle Emperor" logo and a silhouette of Leo. The box allows for upright watch display, making it both a collector's item and a stylish decorative piece.
