Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the beloved magical girl classic, "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha." To celebrate, the official team had teased a slew of major projects, and now, one of the most anticipated has a release window!
The previously announced brand-new anime, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance, officially confirmed today (October 1) that it's slated to air in 2026. This marks the first full-fledged new entry in the series in eight years, following the 2018 theatrical film "Detonation."
After an eight-year hiatus since the "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation" movie, fans are undoubtedly hyped to see Nanoha's latest adventure unfold in the Reiwa era!
The newly unveiled key visual paints a rather grim picture, featuring a new girl character standing on a desolate street. She gazes intently into the distance, a gun clutched in her hand, with the faint silhouette of a creature's corpse visible behind her—an undeniably oppressive atmosphere.
The teaser trailer not only features the voice of series protagonist Takamachi Nanoha but also includes a determined monologue from the new girl: "I will live in this world. May these clasped hands never part." Details on the fresh cast of characters and their voice actors will be revealed at a later date.

Behind the scenes, Tsuzuki Masaki, the original creator, is also handling the script. Directing duties fall to Hamana Takayuki, who previously helmed "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation." Arakaki Kazunari is on board for character design and serving as chief animation director. Animation production is being handled by Seven Arcs, known for their work on the "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha" series, "DOG DAYS" series, and "Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You."
While official information is still limited, a new manga series, "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS," kicked off its serialization in April 2025, and now the anime is confirmed for 2026. Fans eager for more details should definitely stay tuned for future announcements!
