Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'METAL ROBOT魂 (Ka signature)' series, which features designs supervised by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME and combines metallic paintwork with a die-cast frame, has announced its latest product from Gundam Sentinel, the 'ZETA PLUS A1 (Test Machine Color)', slated for release in March 2026.
The MSZ-006A1 ZETA Plus is a mass-produced transformable MS redesigned by the AEUG-affiliated organization 'Karaba' based on the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, commonly known as 'ZETA Plus A1'. This unit significantly simplified the complex transformation mechanism of the Zeta Gundam, thereby achieving lower production costs, and its movable frame structure became more stable. The original 'Flight Armor' equipment for atmospheric re-entry was changed to variable swept wings. Although its operational range is limited to within the atmosphere, its Waverider (WR) form is specialized for long-distance flight, allowing it to demonstrate its value in aerial combat.
The 'METAL ROBOT魂 (Ka signature) ZETA PLUS A1 (Test Machine Color)' adopts the color scheme of the Karaba '18th Tactical Fighter Attack Squadron' leader unit, faithfully reproducing the crimson and white fuselage through precise color application. It also features KATOKI HAJIME-designed markings and Amuro Ray's personal emblem in multiple locations. The unit also utilizes new parts to recreate the distinct front skirt armor, beam cannons on both thighs, and tail wing shape, which differ from the C1 type.
The internal frame is constructed from die-cast alloy parts, offering both flexible articulation in MS mode and the transformation mechanism for WR mode. In MS mode, it can be posed in dynamic combat stances using its beam rifle, beam saber, and beam cannons on both thighs. When transformed into WR mode, it boasts a cool fighter jet-like silhouette. In addition to connecting to a display stand to recreate flight, accessories also include die-cast landing gear parts that can be installed on the underside of the fuselage, allowing for ground parked display.
