Anime "Tojima Dansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" Features Hiroshi Kamiya as Narrator, Wows Fans with Masked Look

The anime "Tojima Dansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider," which premiered this season and is based on Yuushin Shibata's manga of the same name, has been grabbing attention for its unique blend of Kamen Rider lore and stellar animation. Both episodes released so far have been absolutely fantastic.

Before the second episode aired yesterday (10/11), the official team dropped a new trailer, revealing that veteran voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya would be narrating it. As a huge tokusatsu fan himself, this casting choice earned major props from fans online.

"Tojima Dansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" tells the story of Dansaburo Tojima, a 40-year-old man who just can't let go of his dream of becoming a Kamen Rider. Just as he's about to give up, he unexpectedly gets tangled up in a robbery involving "fake Shocker" agents.

Centered around "Middle-Aged Men Who Obsess Over Kamen Rider," the series depicts a group of adults seriously playing out a "real Kamen Rider game." It's a passionate, hilarious, and deeply nostalgic tribute to tokusatsu.

In this special trailer, Hiroshi Kamiya delivers brand-new narration alongside the latest animation clips. The overall vibe is a direct homage to the original "Kamen Rider" show trailers from 1971-1973, instantly whisking fans back to that Showa-era hero golden age. The official team also announced that Kamiya will personally voice every future web preview for the series.

What's more, the official team dropped a photo of Kamiya during recording sessions – sporting the original Kamen Rider No. 1 mask! His expression, a mix of serious and adorable, sent fans into a frenzy. Comments poured in like, "Hiroshi Kamiya totally gets the tokusatsu spirit!" and "He's basically the real deal reincarnated!"

Of course, Kamiya isn't new to the tokusatsu world; he's lent his voice to "Kamen Rider Ryuki" and "Kamen Rider Revice," and even made a live-action appearance in "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger." His love for tokusatsu runs deep!

"Tojima Dansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" has aired two episodes so far, and if you're into this kind of vibe, you absolutely need to check it out! It's packed with incredible homages to Showa-era Kamen Rider, and the music and performances are just stellar. Seriously, our editor gives it a huge thumbs-up!
