Pokémon's Official Paras & Parasect Pokédex Animation Drops, And Fans Are Freaking Out: 'Creepy As Hell!'

Pokémon's latest short animation series, "Pokémon Video Pokédex," has just dropped a new installment. This time, it stars the original Kanto duo: Paras & Parasect. What seemed like a heartwarming entry, however, has unexpectedly turned into a horror short, leaving many trainers online absolutely screaming. What exactly went down?

The official Pokémon X account posted: "This is Parasect's story. Parasect, active under the control of the mushroom's consciousness, seems to have forgotten even Paras…!?" and invited fans to watch on their official YouTube channel.

What looked like a standard lore introduction quickly turned into a comment section flooded with "This is too terrifying" after the video went live.

One netizen exclaimed after watching: "I thought this was going to be a heartwarming story, but it ended with everyone losing their sense of self!?"
Another commented: "Three Paras were always together, but after evolving, it isolated itself and even ignored its companions bringing food… that's just brutal QQ."

Many viewers pointed out the horrifying details before and after evolution: "The Paras about to evolve looks completely withered, covered in spreading mycelia. Only the one not fully consumed still has spirit – that scene is super creepy!" Someone else observed: "Paras' eyes were originally clear, but after evolving into Parasect, they turn completely white. It really feels like its self was taken over by the fungus."

Many netizens were shocked, even though Parasect's Pokédex entry has long clarified everything: "The mushroom on its back is the main body; the bug underneath is almost dead. If the mushroom falls off, it will never move again." As the bug's essence is continuously drained, it seems the one doing the thinking is no longer the bug, but the mushroom on its back.

Still, many players lamented, recalling how terrifying they found this Pokémon's lore back in the day. Now, with it being animated in the Pokédex video, the backstory is even more confirmed, and it really might scare kids QQ.

This video, originally part of the "Pokémon Video Pokédex" series, unexpectedly became what fans are calling an "official horror short." Many fans commented: "This isn't childhood nostalgia; it's a trauma generator." Perhaps the Parasect video truly made many players realize the terrifying lore hidden within the Pokédex.
