Deadline recently exclusively revealed that "Midnight Special" director Jeff Nichols has locked in the cast for his upcoming film, "King Snake." Also joining the ensemble is Michael Shannon, a frequent collaborator of Nichols, having previously worked together on films such as "Midnight Special," "Mud," "Take Shelter," and "The Bikeriders." Shannon has appeared in nearly all of Nichols' projects. "King Snake" is slated to seek distribution rights at this year's American Film Market, kicking off November 11.
Described as a Gothic horror film infused with supernatural and mythological elements, "King Snake" centers on a young married couple, played by Qualley and Starkey. After inheriting a farm in rural Arkansas, they find themselves battling both physical and spiritual demons inhabiting the property.
