Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has officially announced detailed information for the latest event-exclusive product from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, the 'MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam [TWILIGHT COATING]', which will be available for sale at all stores starting December 13, 2025.
The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam is the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY. It is equipped with a Hyper Deuterion Engine capable of generating massive amounts of energy, allowing it to deploy a large array of high-power beam weapons such as high-output beam rifles, the 'Calyx' Beam Cannons, and the 'Xiphias 3' Rail Cannons. Furthermore, it features the 'Super DRAGOON' Mobile Weapon Wing on its back, which deploys a total of 8 'Beam Assault Cannons' for all-range attacks, enabling Kira's Super Coordinator abilities to simultaneously lock onto numerous enemy units.
The 'MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam [TWILIGHT COATING]' is a modified version of the previously released regular kit. The entire model is crafted with special coated parts, giving most of the inner frame and exterior armor a pristine, porcelain-like white luster. The original gold-plated parts have been replaced with silver-plated parts that emit a bluish hue, giving the mobile suit an elegant, special color scheme reminiscent of ice and snow.
Based on the information currently released, the main body's specifications are identical to the regular version, aside from the coloring. It inherits the articulation technology cultivated from the MG and RG series, featuring a flexible 3-axis movable neck, independently articulated forearms and forefeet, and interlocking armor mechanisms in the waist and legs for more natural movements. More exaggerated armor deployment mechanisms are present in the skirt armor, shoulder armor, rear calf thrusters, and the 'Super DRAGOON' Mobile Weapon Wing.
