In early April, even before the release of "Now You See Me 3," Lionsgate had already announced plans for a fourth film, with Ruben Fleischer, director of the third installment, set to return to helm the project. However, the fourth film isn't the only spin-off in the works; franchise producer Bobby Cohen revealed that they are also preparing to conquer the small screen with the first "Now You See Me" spin-off series.
Cohen stated, "We've had brief discussions about doing a TV show. We thought about doing something innovative, because you certainly don't want to just stretch a movie's story into eight hours and call it a TV show; you'd want to do something completely different."

Cohen continued, "We've met many magicians, and a lot of them start as apprentices, many working backstage for some of the big-name magicians in Las Vegas. So, one idea we discussed was: imagine if the big-name magician who hired them was murdered, and his four assistants became the prime suspects. They would then have to use magic to prove their innocence and find the real killer. That was one of the ideas we had at the time, making the story feel like part of the 'Now You See Me' universe without directly copying the film's plot."

Cohen also discussed the "Now You See Me" franchise's inspiration for the magic community: "We're very keen to try a TV series because I think the magic world, especially in Las Vegas, has become... I think magic is cool now, and part of that is thanks to our franchise. Ruben Fleischer and I have spoken with many young magicians who all said, 'These films inspired me to learn the art of magic.' So, I think we've made magic cool. Therefore, I believe extending that coolness into the television realm would be incredibly interesting."
