Three years ago, Luca Guadagnino, the acclaimed Italian director behind "Call Me by Your Name," announced plans to develop a biopic about the late Oscar-winning actress Audrey Hepburn, with Cannes Best Actress winner Rooney Mara set to star. However, with no progress on that project after three years, another team is now reportedly gearing up to tell Hepburn's story.

Entertainment outlet Deadline recently reported exclusively that Wayfarer Studios, co-producers behind "It Ends with Us," is developing "Dinner With Audrey," a live-action film based on a true story. The movie will chronicle a magical evening Audrey Hepburn shared in Paris with her longtime confidant, legendary fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy.

Abe Sylvia, creator and producer of the series "Palm Royale" and "Dead to Me," is set to direct, with Kara Holden ("Carrie Pilby") penning the screenplay. Thomasin McKenzie, known for "Last Night in Soho," is confirmed to portray Hepburn, while Ansel Elgort of "Baby Driver" fame will play Givenchy. Michael Shannon is also set to appear in an undisclosed role.
