"Predator: Badlands," the latest installment in the "Predator" franchise, hit theaters earlier this month to unexpectedly rave reviews. Audiences particularly praised the engaging dynamic between Elle Fanning as the synthetic "Tia" and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as the Yautja protagonist "Dirk" during their adventure. However, director Dan Trachtenberg recently confessed that Tia was not his original choice for Dirk's partner.

Trachtenberg did not elaborate on how Dirk and Naru would have met or partnered. However, the animated film "Predator: Killer of Killers," released this summer, already hinted at Naru's capture by a Predator and subsequent long-term cryogenic stasis in its post-credits scene. It remains to be seen how Trachtenberg will resolve this unfinished storyline in the future.
