ANGEL CLOVER x Initial D 30th Anniversary Collab Drops Four Watches Inspired by Iconic Cars

For 30 years, Shuichi Shigeno's Initial D has captivated gearheads with the high-stakes mountain pass battles of Takumi Fujiwara and his legendary AE86. The series, which spawned an iconic anime and live-action film, remains a fan favorite across generations.

To celebrate this three-decade milestone, watch brand ANGEL CLOVER is revving up a new collaboration: a collection of sports watches inspired by the series' most iconic cars. The lineup features four distinct designs, including Takumi's trusty "Hachi-Roku." Each watch is priced at 36,300 JPY and is available for pre-order now.

The four models in the collection are designed around the signature rides of the series' top drivers:

Takumi Fujiwara: TOYOTA AE86 Sprinter Trueno

Ryosuke Takahashi: MAZDA RX-7 (FC3S)

Keisuke Takahashi: MAZDA RX-7 (FD3S)

Mako Sato & Sayuki: NISSAN SilEighty (180SX)

Each timepiece meticulously channels the exterior, color scheme, and dashboard details of the actual car. The 12 o'clock position is marked with the car's model number—"86," "7," or "13"—while the sub-dials are designed to look like the vehicle's instrument cluster, packing the whole piece with pure sports car soul.

The details don't stop there. The case back of each watch is engraved with the design of the car's signature wheels, and the crown features the iconic "D" logo from the series. It's less about telling time and more about wearing a miniature version of your favorite drift machine on your wrist.

▼ Takumi Fujiwara's TOYOTA AE86 Sprinter Trueno Model

Inspired by Takumi's legendary TOYOTA Sprinter Trueno AE86, this watch rocks the unmistakable black-and-white "panda" color scheme. A white dial is contrasted with a glossy black sub-dial and bezel, with a bold "86" marking the 12 o'clock position. The sub-dials are directly modeled after the AE86's dashboard.

The case back is stamped with the AE86's wheel pattern and the *Initial D* 30th anniversary logo. The sub-dials mimic the car's interior gauges, with a speedometer at 9 o'clock and tachometers at 3 and 6 o'clock. As a final touch, the side of the case is engraved with the iconic "藤原豆腐店(自家用)" (Fujiwara Tofu Shop (Private Use)) logo, perfectly replicating the text on the door of Takumi's car.

▼ Keisuke Takahashi's MAZDA RX-7 FD3S Model

Channeling the aggressive style of Takumi's rival, Keisuke Takahashi, and his MAZDA RX-7 FD3S, this watch is all about that brilliant yellow. The outer ring of the dial, hands, and indices are all accented in yellow, evoking the image of the "Yellow Comet" blazing down a mountain pass at night.

The 12 o'clock position features a "7," while the case back is engraved with the FD3S wheel design and the 30th anniversary logo. The sub-dials recreate the FD3S instrument layout: a speedometer at 3 o'clock, a tachometer at 9 o'clock, and a boost gauge at 6 o'clock.

▼ Ryosuke Takahashi's MAZDA RX-7 FC3S Model

This model, inspired by Ryosuke Takahashi's MAZDA RX-7 FC3S, boasts a strong metallic feel that's clean, sharp, and screams speed. The case and bezel are made of polished stainless steel, creating a high-contrast look that reflects the cool, calculating aura of a professional racer. The sub-dials are based on the FC3S's mechanical-looking instrument panel.

A "7" marks the 12 o'clock position, and the case back features the FC3S wheel pattern and the 30th anniversary logo. The sub-dials are designed to simulate the car's gauges, with a speedometer at 3 o'clock, an oil pressure gauge at 6 o'clock, and a tachometer at 9 o'clock.

▼ Mako Sato's NISSAN SilEighty Model

Driven by Mako Sato and Sayuki, the "SilEighty" (a 180SX with an S13 Silvia front end) was the ride of one of *Initial D*'s rare female duo teams. This watch features a blue-themed design, with sub-dials inspired by BLITZ aftermarket gauges and the words "Impact Blue" printed on the dial.

The 12 o'clock position is marked with a "13," and the case back is engraved with the SilEighty's wheel design and the 30th anniversary logo. The BLITZ-inspired sub-dials show a turbo gauge at 3 o'clock, a water temp gauge at 6 o'clock, and an oil pressure gauge at 9 o'clock. For a deep-cut reference, the side of the case is engraved with the Oginoya "Toge no Kamameshi" logo—a nod to the iconic scene where Mako and Iketani first met and made a promise.

Each watch also comes with a bonus metal license plate-style keychain, perfect for your car keys or for display.
