"Himitsu Sentai Gorenger," which first aired in 1975 during the Showa era, is the groundbreaking progenitor of the "Super Sentai Series." It holds the record for the most episodes in the franchise, running for two years with a staggering 84 episodes—a feat unmatched by any subsequent series. This iconic show laid the foundation for many Super Sentai staples, including the five-color hero team, paving the way for the franchise's enduring legacy.
This special SEIKO commemorative watch, designed under the direct supervision of Toei, celebrates Gorenger's 50-year milestone. The dial sports a sleek silver-white color, reminiscent of the "Gorenger Machines." The numbers, inspired by the "golden numbers" on the heroes' helmets, are rendered with a metallic sheen, clearly visible on the right side of the watch face.
The watch's triple sub-dial design is packed with Easter eggs: the top sub-dial features the motif of the later-introduced aerial battleship "Varidorin," the left sub-dial showcases the spherical bomb from the "Gorenger Hurricane," and the bottom sub-dial sports the iconic belt buckle emblem.
