Hey there, fellow fans! When you're collecting your favorite anime merch, you probably take extra care to store and protect your beloved characters and items, right?
Well, a recent tragedy struck a Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user. This dedicated fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion decided to clear their head by tidying up their room, only for their ultimate fave, Kaworu Nagisa, to suffer a "tragic accident." The post quickly went viral on X, with the user even self-deprecatingly calling it a "recreation of the original story," leaving netizens both sad and uneasy.

The user, FRI (@Fri0714), is a huge fan of Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa from Neon Genesis Evangelion, with a collection spanning from figures to acrylic stands. Their post read: "Was feeling down, so I decided to clean my room, but the vacuum cleaner hose accidentally hit it... I'm absolutely devastated."
Kaworu's acrylic stand fell and, tragically, broke right at the neck. Talk about adding insult to injury – cleaning to lift your spirits, only to face such a disaster! It's enough to make anyone feel even worse. They lamented, "Why did it have to be the neck...?"
Because, as any true Evangelion fan knows, whether in the TV series or the new movies, Kaworu's "neck" has always been a symbolic part of his destiny. Seeing their merch break in such a way must have brought up a lot of complex emotions.

The replies to the post absolutely exploded: "I can hear Beethoven's 'Symphony No. 9'...", "The DSS Choker...!", "Too painful," and "Couldn't even save him in this timeline?"
Everyone was shocked by this "super Kaworu-esque" tragedy.

After the incident, FRI still placed the broken Kaworu acrylic stand back in their display area, with the reasoning: "Since it's like this now, I'll just leave it..."
In a way, it's become an unforgettable memory (for better or worse?).
