Action superstar Jason Statham's new film "Shelter," slated for release early next year, today unveiled its first trailer and promotional poster (below).
The film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh, known for "Angel Has Fallen," and written by Ward Parry, screenwriter of "Curtiz."
The rest of the cast includes Tom Wu, Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, and Daniel Mays. "Shelter" is scheduled for a North American theatrical release on January 30 next year.

The synopsis describes a master living a low-profile, anonymous life who inadvertently exposes his whereabouts, triggering a new wave of pursuers. To save innocent civilians caught in the crossfire, he is forced to kill again. This plot outline could be copy-pasted for almost any new Statham film, continuing a familiar formula.
Following the pattern established in films like "Homefront," "Wild Card," "The Beekeeper," and "Hummingbird" (also known as "Redemption"), where Statham has played characters disguised as a gambler, beekeeper, or foreman, this time he appears to be a lighthouse keeper.
