As "Avatar: Fire and Ash" approaches its release, veteran film star Sigourney Weaver is reportedly in talks to join another major project. According to Deadline, Weaver is currently negotiating with Prime Video to star in the upcoming live-action "Tomb Raider" series.

If the deal closes, she would share the screen with "Game of Thrones" alum Sophie Turner, who is already confirmed to portray the iconic heroine Lara Croft. "Fleabag" creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is attached as writer and executive producer.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the series is slated to begin filming on January 19, 2026. For Sigourney Weaver, a successful negotiation would mark another high-profile role, adding to her legendary work in the "Alien" and "Avatar" franchises.
