Voice Actor Daisuke Ono Pulls Off Epic Feat, Voicing Nine Characters (Male and Female!) for "strikeout pitch" Manga Ad

If you're clued into the world of Japanese voice acting, you know just how insane these pros can be. They can tackle any role imaginable—not just people, but animals, inanimate objects, and even ambient sounds! It's no wonder fans often joke, "Japanese voice actors are monsters!"

Speaking of monsters, popular voice actor Daisuke Ono—known for iconic roles like Jotaro Kujo in "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and Erwin Smith in "Attack on Titan"—recently dropped jaws by voicing nine different characters, both male and female, for a new ad promoting the manga "strikeout pitch" (サンキューピッチ). The series just snagged first place in the Web Manga category at the "Next Manga Awards 2025," and Ono's incredible performance has everyone talking!

"strikeout pitch" (サンキューピッチ) is a baseball manga by Japanese artist Hisashi Sumiyoshi, serialized on Shueisha's "Shonen Jump+" since September 2024. Its fourth volume just hit shelves, and it's already a hit, winning first place in the Web Manga category at the "Next Manga Awards 2025" and third place in the Male Readers' category for "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2026." Pretty impressive for a sports series!

For this latest ad, Ono took on *all* the roles, including the narration and several female characters. Most notably, he voiced the incredibly popular female teacher, Minako Agawa.

▼ And yes, Daisuke Ono voiced all these other characters too.

Fans are absolutely losing it, especially since Minako Agawa was previously voiced by Sumire Uesaka in a different PV. The contrast is wild!

▼ Here's the previous ad for Volume 3, where Sumire Uesaka voiced Agawa-sensei.

This really highlights Daisuke Ono's incredible range... and perhaps his sheer audacity! To go from voicing a stoic character like Jotaro Kujo to nailing a female role with such freedom? No wonder fans are blown away!
