Last July, Yusei Matsui's historical manga, "The Elusive Samurai," hit screens with an anime adaptation that immediately captivated audiences with its explosive first episode. After a successful run, a second season was greenlit, drawing even more fans to the ongoing manga series.
Today (12/21), during the Jump Festa 2026 stage event, it was officially announced that the second season of "The Elusive Samurai" anime will premiere in July 2026! Alongside the announcement, a stunning new teaser visual was unveiled, featuring the new character "Mima," along with a promotional video utilizing the same visual.

When "The Elusive Samurai" anime first launched in July 2024, CloverWorks' top-tier production quality, combined with its compelling narrative set against the backdrop of Japan's Kamakura period, quickly garnered a massive following. This success translated into impressive manga sales, with over 4.5 million copies sold by February 2025.

The one-year anniversary stage event at Jump Festa 2026 on its second day featured the main voice cast, who interacted with fans and officially confirmed the July 2026 premiere date.

The new visual for Season 2 puts the spotlight on Mima, a pivotal new character. In the original manga, she is the daughter of Sasaki Doyo, possessing divine powers and a key member of the Ashikaga clan. Fans can anticipate intense confrontations and significant encounters between Tokiyuki and Mima this season.
