AI innovation continues to captivate the world, with more and more people experimenting with its capabilities in image generation, video production, and intelligent conversation. Its applications are constantly expanding.
However, X's recently launched Grok has sparked significant concern across the platform. Grok's current ability to edit published images directly through user prompts in comments has unexpectedly led to many cosplayers encountering users demanding Grok edit their photos, sometimes transforming ordinary pictures into revealing images. This has caused considerable distress and ignited debate over the appropriateness of this feature.

Coser Yukina (@nikuyukina2), who posted about the issue, stated that this malicious harassment began appearing online yesterday. Users are taking cosplayers' photos, tagging Grok in the comments, and having them altered into sexually suggestive or sensitive content. Despite warnings, many continue to do so, making it virtually impossible to prevent.
▼ As seen in the comments, users directly tag Grok below the photo, requesting changes to the original outfit.

Furthermore, English-speaking commenters have also appeared, demanding swimsuit edits, and Grok has actually generated these images. This has deeply troubled cosplayers, who find their pleas ignored, highlighting a clear pattern of harassment.

These incidents have prompted Yukina to speak out on behalf of cosplayers, emphasizing the difficulty in curbing this behavior. Arbitrarily using someone else's photos with Grok for unauthorized alterations is inherently disrespectful and rude. Even reporting these incidents to X's official channels hasn't stopped the recurring problem.
In fact, X's recent integration of direct AI image editing features has already caused considerable concern among artists, who worry about their illustrations being indiscriminately altered by users via Grok. Now, this issue has shifted to directly targeting real individuals, causing tangible distress.
▼ Many have encountered similar problems, with explicit requests made directly in the comments below their images.

This situation underscores the audacious behavior prevalent in online spaces, now amplified by AI tools like Grok. It suggests that only official intervention from X can rein in these disturbing actions, otherwise, the problem will escalate, leading to user inconvenience and a breakdown of trust.
