The Touhou Project is often jokingly called the anime fandom's "slowest to fade" series. While it might not command the peak popularity it once did during the Niconico era, it's maintained a steady, loyal following, with fan booths still a common sight at Comiket.
Good Smile Company recently dropped some serious cuteness with their new Hakurei Reimu & Kirisame Marisa Daifuku-style dolls, based on the classic fan-made "Yukkuri" (ゆっくり, also known as "Manmanrai" or "Relax") design. Their adorable looks might just make your ears ring with joy (?). Priced at 2,500 JPY, these are currently available for pre-order on the GSC official website.

"Yukkuri" (ゆっくりしていってね, shortened to ゆっくり) literally means "take it easy" or "take your time." Its distinctive "bun face" led Chinese-speaking fans to affectionately dub it "Manmanrai" (饅饅來), meaning "slowly slowly come."
Back in 2003, "Yukkuri" took 2ch by storm, captivating a devoted fanbase with its bizarre charm and quickly becoming a Japanese internet meme. Later, Niconico saw a surge of "Manmanrai" video series, where creators would use various Yukkuri-style characters (not limited to Touhou) paired with quirky synthesized voices to narrate videos, often replacing human speech. To this day, it remains a hot topic among Touhou fans.

Now, GSC has brought this iconic meme to life as adorable, big-headed daifuku-shaped plushies! You can carry them everywhere, or even stage your own "Yukkuri" skits with them. Reimu measures approximately 130mm, while Marisa is about 170mm. Grab both and bring that "take it easy, relax" vibe with you wherever you go!
