Interestingly, the in-demand Glen Powell is heavily featured in today's slate of announcements, with three films starring him. First up is "The Great Beyond," an original sci-fi blockbuster from Warner Bros., written and directed by J.J. Abrams — his first directorial effort in seven years — which was previously set for release on November 13 this year. The film's additional cast includes Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, Samuel L. Jackson, and Merritt Wever.

Also starring Powell is an untitled musical comedy from Universal, now scheduled for February 5, 2027. The film, directed by "Knocked Up" filmmaker Judd Apatow, who also co-wrote the script with Powell, will follow Powell's character, a country singer whose career is on the decline. Additionally, Emmy winner Cristin Milioti was reported by Deadline today to be joining the cast.

Powell's third project is another sci-fi film directed by Esmail, titled "Tesseract." Distributed by Amazon and MGM, the plot details remain under wraps, with production expected to begin this summer. Powell's involvement was announced recently.
