Keisuke Itagaki's iconic Japanese manga series "Baki" has seen its anime adaptations, including two seasons of "Baki Hanma" and the crossover "Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura," stream exclusively on Netflix. And the saga isn't over yet!
The previously announced anime adaptation of the "Baki" series, "Baki-Dou," is officially set to drop on Netflix globally starting February 26. Get ready for a binge-fest, because episodes 1 through 13 will all be available at once!
"Baki-Dou" is a spin-off in the "Baki" universe, picking up right after the "Strongest Father-Son Quarrel on Earth" arc in "Baki Hanma." This time, cutting-edge cloning technology brings the legendary Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, back to the modern era. Baki, Retsu Kaioh, Izou Motobe, Yujiro Hanma, and even the prehistoric human Pickle will face off against this insane warrior from the past in an epic, time-bending showdown!
A new key visual has also been unveiled, featuring the "never-defeated" swordsman Miyamoto Musashi—resurrected through advanced science—at its center. He's surrounded by familiar faces from the underground arena, including Baki, Yujiro, Retsu Kaioh, Doppo Orochi, and Goki Shibukawa, all ready to confront Musashi head-on. A major highlight of this series is the official lifting of the weapon ban. The visual shows Musashi wielding his katana, ready to clash with these formidable men who are brimming with confidence in their own strength. This cross-era, life-or-death battle between a legendary swordsman and the strongest warriors is absolutely hyping us up!
Of course, following "Baki Hanma" with "Baki-Dou" makes perfect sense in the anime's progression. Just like its predecessor, "Baki-Dou" will be a Netflix exclusive, with TMS Entertainment once again handling production. With all episodes dropping at the end of February, "Baki" fans, get ready to dive in!
