In 2024, Parker Finn, the acclaimed writer-director behind the hit horror franchise "Smile," bravely took on a classic, signing on to helm a remake of the iconic horror-fantasy film "Possession." After nearly two years in development, the lead actors appear to be emerging, with foreign media outlet Nexus Point News recently reporting that Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley are in negotiations to star.

When news of a "Possession" remake first surfaced two years ago, Robert Pattinson was widely considered the top choice for the male lead, as he was also attached as a co-producer. Rumors even suggested he might star in the film himself. However, due to potential scheduling conflicts or other factors, Pattinson will now remain solely behind the scenes. The new "Possession" will be directed and written by Finn, with Paramount Pictures – who previously collaborated with Finn on "Smile" – handling distribution.
